What’s up gaming heroes, welcome back to another awesome World of Warcraft guide.
If you’ve been playing WoW Midnight for a while, you’ve probably experienced this…
You log in.
Stand in Silvermoon for five minutes.
Spin your character around.
Open your map.
Close your map.
And then ask yourself:
“What am I actually supposed to do today?”
If that sounds familiar, don’t worry. Every World of Warcraft player reaches this point eventually.
Your main character is geared, you’ve cleared the raid a few times, completed your weekly activities, pushed a few Mythic+ keys, and now you’re stuck in that awkward position where you still want to play WoW… you just don’t know what to do.
The good news is that Midnight has an enormous amount of content. Sometimes you simply need a new goal to make the game exciting again.
Here are 14 great things you can do whenever you’re feeling bored in WoW Midnight.

Become a MemberMax Out Your Character Properly
A lot of players think they’re “finished” once they hit a decent item level.
You’re probably not.
Challenge yourself to completely finish your character.
Aim for:
- Full Myth gear
- Maximum gear upgrades
- Four-piece tier set
- Best embellishments
- Perfect crafted gear
- Fully upgraded trinkets
- No weak gear slots
This gives you a clear objective every time you log in and naturally encourages you to run Mythic+, raids, delves and complete your weekly vault.
Level and Gear an Alt
Sometimes you’re not bored of World of Warcraft.
You’re bored of your class.
That’s a huge difference.
If you’ve played the same specialization for weeks or months, everything starts feeling repetitive.
Try something completely different.
- DPS players should try tanking.
- Tank players should try healing.
- Ranged players should experience melee.
Learning another role gives you a completely different perspective on the game and often makes WoW feel fresh again.
Push Mythic+ Further Than Ever Before
Many players only run enough Mythic+ for their weekly rewards.
Instead, give yourself an actual target.
For example:
- Keystone Master
- Time every dungeon
- Reach your highest Mythic+ rating
- Learn to tank higher keys
- Master healing
Personally, one of my goals this season is to time every dungeon on +18.
Having a measurable target makes logging in feel rewarding.
Take Raiding Seriously
Have you ever genuinely tried progression raiding?
Not just clearing Normal once.
Actually progressing through Heroic or Mythic.
Raiding at a higher level is one of the most rewarding challenges in World of Warcraft because every player matters.
One mistake can wipe twenty people.
Set yourself goals like:
- Earn Ahead of the Curve
- Clear Heroic
- Push Mythic bosses
- Collect raid achievements
- Farm your BiS trinkets and weapons
Master Every Profession
This has become one of my favourite goals in Midnight.
Every morning I log into several different crafting characters and complete all of my Patron Orders.
My long-term goal is to completely max every crafting profession.
Doing this means you’re constantly progressing by:
- Unlocking recipes
- Earning profession knowledge
- Completing Patron Orders
- Building profession gear
- Making passive gold
It gives you a genuine reason to log in every day.
Learn How to Make Gold
Gold making is honestly an entire game within World of Warcraft.
You can:
- Gather materials
- Craft for profit
- Flip items on the Auction House
- Sell consumables
- Farm rare materials
- Complete profession cooldowns
Giving yourself a gold goal instantly creates purpose.
Maybe your goal is:
- 100,000 gold
- 1 million gold
- A WoW Token every month
- Funding your entire guild’s repairs
Whatever your target is, gold making always gives you something productive to work towards.
Farm Mounts, Pets and Toys
Collection content can easily keep you busy for months.
Try farming:
- Rare mounts
- Battle pets
- Toys
- Hidden cosmetics
- Legacy achievements
- Event rewards
Sometimes it’s nice to slow down, put some music on and simply collect things you’ve always wanted.
Build Better Transmogs
A surprising number of players underestimate how enjoyable transmog collecting can be.
Once you start building proper appearances, you’ll naturally find yourself:
- Running old raids
- Completing achievement chains
- Farming hidden appearances
- Creating different looks for different specs
A cool-looking character simply makes the game more enjoyable.
Set Yourself a Seasonal Goal
One of the biggest reasons players get bored is because they log in without any objective.
Instead, choose one seasonal challenge.
For example:
- Keystone Master
- Max every profession
- Earn 1 million gold
- Fully gear three characters
- Complete every Midnight achievement
- Collect a rare mount
Having a goal completely changes how you approach the game.
Organise Community Events
Some of the best memories I’ve ever had in WoW weren’t raids or Mythic+.
They were community events.
Ideas include:
- Mount farming nights
- Mythic Monday
- Transmog competitions
- Achievement runs
- PvP nights
- Hide and seek
- Player housing competitions
- Casual levelling groups
World of Warcraft is always more enjoyable when it feels social.
Make Better Use of Seasonal Events
Many players completely overlook seasonal content.
Things like:
- Darkmoon Faire
- Timewalking
- Holiday events
- Anniversary celebrations
often reward:
- Mounts
- Pets
- Toys
- Reputation
- Catch-up gear
- Achievements
Even after playing for more than twenty years, I still haven’t finished everything these events have to offer.
Try PvP
If you’ve never touched PvP, now might be the perfect time.
You don’t need to become a Gladiator.
Simply try:
- Battlegrounds
- Arena Skirmishes
- World PvP
It’s a completely different style of gameplay and can make WoW feel brand new.
Help Other Players
One of the most rewarding things you can do is simply help someone else.
You could:
- Carry a friend through Mythic+
- Teach someone their class
- Help a guildmate gear up
- Show someone how to make gold
- Organise a guild event
As someone who’s played WoW for decades, it’s easy to forget how much you’ve learned over the years.
Helping others reminds you of just how much experience you’ve built up.
Take a Break Before You Burn Out
This might sound strange…
But sometimes the best thing to do when you’re bored of WoW…
…isn’t to play WoW.
Take a couple of days away.
Play another game.
Watch a series.
Read a book.
Go outside.
Then come back when you actually want to play.
There’s a huge difference between being bored and being burnt out.
Trying to force yourself to enjoy the game usually has the opposite effect.
Final Thoughts
World of Warcraft doesn’t have to be the same every single day.
You don’t have to only raid.
You don’t have to only push Mythic+.
You don’t have to only play one character.
Midnight has an incredible amount of content, and often all it takes is setting yourself a new goal to completely change how the game feels.
The next time you log into Silvermoon wondering what to do, pick one idea from this list and commit to it.
You might be surprised just how quickly WoW becomes fun again.
