This build is tailored for Alchemist players looking to capitalize on daily transmutes to earn some extra gold. With the potential for Thaumaturgy to unlock lucrative opportunities, this build will help you maximize your profits as prices stabilize in the new expansion.
Step 1: Complete the War Within Campaign
DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE: Completing the War Within Campaign once will give you access to the alt skip for War Within which will immediately allow you to teleport your alts to Dornagal (new main city).
Step 2: Learn Alchemy & Get Treasures
Starting at character level 68, you can learn Khaz Algar Alchemy from the following trainers in Dornogal: Tarig – located in Dornogal.

Step 3: More Knowledge Pointed Needed
Knowledge Points can be gained in a variety of ways but ill cover exactly the fastest ways in order.
- Knowledge Treasures
- Leveling Alchemy (Focus on First Time Bonuses)
- Completing work orders (some rewards points)
- Buying the alchemy manual (10 point from alchemy trainer in City of Threads using Kej). If you’ve completed the campaign you should have enough to buy this, if its on your alt you can transfer it as long as your Alchemy character has 1 Kej (which is easy to do by looting any random treasure in that zone).
Step 4: Leveling Alchemy Up
Leveling any profession can be expensive especially as with the new system it’s more important to focus on crafting “first time craft” gear rather than just chasing the levels. We highly suggest you focus on leveling your profession up as high as possible and clear all first time craft bonuses you possibly can.
Once you have hit over level 50 alchemy it’s a good time to start assigning your knowledge points into the areas of crafting you want to focus on.
Step 5: Assigning Knowledge Points
First 45 Points
- Thaumaturgy (10 Points): Start by investing 10 points into Thaumaturgy to unlock your first sub-specialization.
- Gleaming Transmutagen (20 Points): Next, focus on Gleaming Transmutagen, which will teach you the Gleaming Glory transmute.
- Thaumaturgy (10 -> 20 Points): Return to Thaumaturgy and invest another 10 points to unlock the second sub-specialization.
- Ominous Materials (5 Points): Allocate 5 points into Ominous Materials to unlock better transmute abilities.

Unlocking New Transmutes
To unlock new transmutes, use your Thaumaturgy ability on materials like Weavercloth, Mycobloom, Bismuth, or Storm Dust to generate Ominous Transmutagen. Then, perform Thaumaturgy on Ominous Transmutagen until you discover one of the following transmutes: Ominous Herbs, Ominous Call, or Ominous Gloom. You only need to unlock one of these to start generating Gleaming Transmutagen effectively.
Next 15 Points
Invest 15 additional points into Thaumaturgy. This will allow you to generate Gleaming Transmutagen without a cooldown, meaning you can produce it continuously as long as you have the necessary materials.
You’ll need approximately 500 units of Weavercloth, Mycobloom, Bismuth, or Storm Dust to generate enough Gleaming Transmutagen for one Blasphemite. The profitability of this will depend on the market prices of these reagents, which will stabilize post-launch.

Next 35 Points
- Thaumaturgy (35 -> 55 Points): Continue investing in Thaumaturgy. Reaching the final node will provide you with a significant boost in Gleaming Transmutagen on your first act of Thaumaturgy each day.
- Transmutation (15 Points): Allocate 15 points into Transmutation to reduce your Transmute cooldown from 24 hours to 20 hours.

Is It Worth Investing More Points Into Thaumaturgy?
Investing further into Mercurial Materials, Ominous Materials, and Volatile Materials will increase your yield of Volatile, Mercurial, and Ominous Transmutagen during Thaumaturgy. Whether this is profitable depends on the market value of these materials. As the prices stabilize, this could become a worthwhile investment.
Additionally, you can use Concentration with Thaumaturgy and Transmutation to upgrade lower-quality materials into higher-quality ones. Gaining more skill points will reduce the amount of Concentration needed, or allow you to transmute Quality 2 materials into Quality 3.
Step 6: Profession Gear and Enchants
To maximise and improve your crafting you can purchase 2 Crafting Accessories and 1 Profession Tool from the auction house. Simply search for your 2 accessories and 1 crafting tool for Alchemy and purchase your crafting gear. This will help improve your crafting skill which in turn will make you more gold.
Once you’ve bought your crafting gear I highly advise you also buy an enchant called: Enchant Tool – Algari Resourcefulness this will save you money and as a result make you more money on each average unravel.
Step 7: PROFIT
Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the daily profit which comes from your Cooldown crafting transmutation! The barrier of entry is difficult for this specialization so I (Erosium) predict it will be a long term gold maker in The War Within.
Due to our amazing guide your and your amazing patience for reading it: You can now become an official GOLD MAKING MACHINE!!!!
