Kalimdor Rarity String 2

This article includes areas like Southern Barrens, Razorfen Kraul, Razorfen Downs, Desolace and Maraudon. More to come! The article includes rare locations for each zone, as well as the rares spawn time. AND OF COURSE the Rarity string for every rare and zone drops!

The way the item data has been input into the Rarity string, requires a little explanation:

  • If an item has multiple drop sources, it goes by the highest chance avaliable to the player, in the drop chance percentage.
  • Currently recipe and quest item drops have been excluded. If this causes dissatisfaction please let me know on Discord, and I’ll change the string accordingly. (otherwise they’ll have their own article at a later date)

Southern Barrens Rarity String

Throughout Southern Barrens there are 3 rares, which has unique transmog drops. The neutral rare has a spawn rate of 2-3 hours, while the Horde only rares have a reported spawn rate of 4-6 hours.

Razorfen Kraul is located in the very south of the Southern Barrens. The instances location /way

Razorfen Downs String

Razorfen Downs is located in the very south of the Southern Barrens. If youre on foot head into the brushes and at /way 43.80 24.84 go through the mouth of what seems to be a big crocodile. The instances location is at /way 53.24 69.16
Razorfen Downs has 1 rare, who doesn’t always spawn. The rare is called Sah’rhee, and is located in The Murder Pens at /way 80.0 26.0 within the instance. He does cast a mind control, which can reset the fight.

You can target Sha’rhee after the first room of the instance, and will appear dead and friendly. Use this macro to target him:

/target Sha’rhee

If you don’t target anything simply run back out and reset.

There are 11 drops from both rares and regular mobs in Razorfen Downs, and the following string will import them straight into Rarity for you to get a lovely announcement, when you loot it:

Desolace Rarity String

Desolace has no rares with unique transmog drops, and there is only 1 drop, Augural Shroud, from one specific kind of mob, Nether Maiden. This mob can be found in the southern end of Desolace in an area called Mannoroc Coven.The following string will import the shroud into Rarity for you to get a lovely announcement, when you loot it:

Maraudon String

Maraudon is located on the west side of Desolace within the Maraudon cave. This caves entrance is located at /way 29.23 62.54. When you’ve entered the cave, there are 3 different entrances to the mega dungeon, one for each wing. All wings are connected and can be accessed through every entrance. Within the cave these are the entrances:
/way 44.63 76.60
/way 51.71 25.01
/way 78.13 55.68

In the Maraudon instance there are no unique zone drops, but there is 1 rare, who doesn’t always spawn. Meshlok the Harvester. The entrance closes to this rare is the Maraudon Portal at /way 44.63 76.60
SilverDragon has a few different spawns, but I have personally only experienced Meshlok spawning in the water on the top of the waterfall in Poison Falls, then he’ll slowly walk down the water path and back. It took me 66 runs to get his three drops.

He spawned at run 22, 23, 25, 31, 35, 41, 44, 45, 58, 64, 66 and 76, so safe to say his spawn rate seems very random.

Meshlok can be targeted from the Maraudon Portal entrance, by using this macro:

/target Meshlok the Harvester

If you are on a Druid, use your Dreamwalk or Teleport: Moonglade ability twice to leave the instance fast.
