Leatherworking Equipment

For each crafting and gathering profession, there is one tool and two accessories slots. They’ll give you additional stats that will be much welcome!

There are two variants of each tool and accessories. You can already create a version with level 68 and buy or sell in the auction house. You can create the significantly better version yourself, depending on your profession, or purchase it through the craft order system from other players. You must be level 80 for use.

You can craft one of your accessories yourself:

Your tool and second accessory all come from Blacksmithing

Leatherworking Bag

This is a new thing in the War Within, you get really cool profession specific bags that give you bonuses when crafting! The one for Leatherworking is Hideshaper’s Workbag, you can get it through work orders.

Leveling Leatherworking

Here’s how to go from 1 to 100 skill points in TWW Leatherworking:

(you’ll need about 555-645x Stormcharged Leather, 255x Gloom Chitin, 3x Viridescent Spores, 11-14x Thunderous Hide and 3x Sunless Carapace to get to level 67)

Past this point things will get a bit slower. You’ll need to gain knowledge points to then unlock new recipes and then craft those for skill points. Every new recipe gives you knowledge points on the first craft, so make sure to do that as often as possible!

Specializations

Once your leatherworking skill reaches 25, you’ll unlock specializations. It’s important to carefully review these options and choose the path that aligns with your goals. To unlock the second specialization, you’ll need a skill level of 50, for the third, a skill level of 65, and the final one will unlock at skill level 75.

If you aim to unlock all specializations, be prepared to invest a total of 800 knowledge points.

By investing knowledge points in the various specialization trees, you’ll increase your skill in that category by 1 point per knowledge point. The higher your skill, the better your yield. Additionally, every 5 knowledge points unlock additional attributes!

Learned Leatherworker

This specialization is about improving your leatherworking in all points.

The main spec will increase your resourcefulness and ingenuity, reduce how much concentration you use and make leatherworking faster.

Then you have three subspecs: Waste Not is great for increasing resourcefulness (i.e using less materials), Commanding Concentration is for increasing your Ingenuity and reducing how much concentration you use, while the final subspec Industrious Innovations is great for reagent crafting as it will boost your Multicraft.

Luxurious Leathers

This spec is for Leather crafting. You’ll be able to specialize in the specific type of gear that you want to craft, or you could just go for a more general build if you want to do something more casual.

You can activate the following plans:

Concrete Chitin

This is similar to the previous spec except it is for crafting Mail gear.

You can activate the following plans:

Flawless Fortes

With this spec you’ll learn a LOT of cool stuff. Let’s go over all 5 subspecs:

  • Arathi Armorer – teaches Blessed Weapon Grip crafting and gives you buffs when crafting Arathi gear.
  • Nerubian Nous – teaches Writhing Armor Banding crafting and gives you buffs when crafting Nerubian gear.
  • Beastly Bulwarks – teaches Weathered Stormfront Vest and Smoldering Pollen Hauberk crafting and gives you buffs when crafting beast items.
