Tips for Gold Making with Mining & Herbs

Now it’s time to spend the Knowledge Points on improving your mining and herbalism, you decide for yourself which knowledge point tree to focus on, eventually you will have it all anyway. If you need help with your specializations check out our mining or herbalism guides.

Specializations Points for Mining

FOLLOW THIS ORDER OF POINTS TO MAKE THE MOST GOLD POSSIBLE!!!

• First 60 Points go into “Mining Fundamental” – this unlocks Mounted Mining (IMPORTANT).
• NEXT 10 Points go into: “Plethora of Ore” .
• NEXT 45 Points go into: “Bismuth”. (MOST IMPORTANT POINTS FOR GOLD).
• NEXT 40 Points go into finishing: “Plethora of Ore”.
• NEXT 25 Points go into: “Rich Deposits”.

Specializations Points for Herbalism

FOLLOW THIS ORDER OF POINTS TO MAKE THE MOST GOLD POSSIBLE!!!

• First 40 Points into: “Botony” – This unlocks mounted herbalism (IMPORTANT).
• Next 5 Points into: “Bountiful Harvests”.
• Next 40 Points into: “Fungus Forager”. (increases Null Lotus Drops from Mycobloom).
• Next 35 Points into “Bountiful Harvests”.
• From here choose which herbs to specialize on.

Buy from the auction house the following potions to speed up gathering and DRASTICALLY increase Gold Per Hour farming!

Phial of Truesight (Lasts 30 minutes).

Darkmoon firewater (lasts 1 hour).

Weaver’s Buff (Pact)

Head over to this location: (Azj Kahet – Weaver’s Lair) – Co-ordinates: 55.27, 41.04

Accept the Pact Quest and choose the Weavers as your pact to get a HUGE 15% Gathering Speed!

Profession Equipment

Ensure all your equipment you buy from the auction house has Finesse as this will drastically increase your gold per hour from additional drops. If you want more nullstones then perception may be better but overall I prefer Finesse. Also buy the enchant for finesse and use it on your profession tool for extra!

Routes

To import routes into World of Warcraft make sure you download the addons: Routes Import / Export & Routes. This will allow you to take the code below and copy / paste it into wow! When in WoW type in chat /routes to bring the UI up. Then paste the code into the import box and BOOM you’ve done it!

I tried many many different routes and this was the one I enjoyed the most, got the best return on my time without constantly having to fly high then low wasting vigor. Enjoy the route!

What rich soil nodes can do for you.

If you haven’t heard yet, or maybe you are wondering how to use your seeds after picking them up from herbs around Khaz Algar. Hallowfall is the only zone as of right now that contains rich soil nodes. After picking a seed up you are directed to an area called Beledar’s Bounty. To get to this location please go to where this little circle is:

Once you are here or if you follow the route above titled Bountiful Harvest. Begin planting the seeds by clicking on the seed near a rich soil node. This causes a herb from Khaz Algar to spawn.

If you are thinking what I’m thinking. Based on how node gathering works in Retail now. Up to 10 people can loot the same node before it is forced to despawn. However, it will still despawn if less than 10 people pick it up after so long. This means seed parties are a think again. 

Yes, if you are thinking of how seed parties worked back in Legion, that way of gathering herbs is back. All you need to throw a party is plenty of seeds. I would recommend saving about 20 of them (all sorts of seeds too. Not just the Verdant seeds if you chose that specialization). Have a small group of people who also have herbalism and a few seeds themselves. Then just have at the rich soil nodes.

Gold Per Hour?

Gold per hour at the time of making this farm was 50,000 – 60,000 gold per hour. Below you can see a video where I (Erosium) did this farm while leveling a character to 80, we earnt a lot of gold doing this. Please note you will make more from just mining than you will from mining and herbalism.
